ABOUT

Shadow Show

Jennifer Gallegos, PT, DPT

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico Jennifer started dancing at a young age. She continued dancing through high school and college where she double majored in biology and dance. Her passion for anatomy, movement, and dance lead her to a career in Physical Therapy. While in school she did a clinical rotation with a dance medicine clinic and upon graduation she began travelling with National Broadway tours including Wicked and Hamilton as the backstage PT. After 5 years of being ‘on the road’ she decided to settle in DC.

She currently works at a private outpatient clinic treating a wide range of orthopedic injuries. For a year and a half she was the on-site therapist at the Kirov Academy of Ballet where she worked with pre-professional dancers between the ages of 11 and 22. While there she also presented a 5-part dancer's health and wellness workshop for the summer intensive. She continues to work backstage at the Kennedy Center and National theatre for touring Broadway shows.

Jennifer began taking Pilates in college and was immediately drawn to the precision and control of movement. She loved that it complemented her dance training and noticed an improvement in strength and control even after a few sessions. On a trip to San Francisco while on tour she had the opportunity to work with a master teacher which inspired her to pursue becoming a teacher herself. Jennifer is thrilled to have worked with Timea Presley for teacher training. She is excited to bring Pilates into her treatment plan.
